What is DTG printing?

As the name might suggest, direct-to-garment printing (DTG) is a printing method that applies ink directly to a garment.  The garment is printed using water based inks (called aqueous inks) before being cured with an air dryer to lock in the design. DTG printing is best suited for fabrics like cottons, bamboo and other natural materials, as the material absorbs the ink.  DTG is one of the most popular methods in on-demand production.

What is DTF prinitng?

Direct-to-film, referred to as DTF, is a more recent printing technique.  DTF prints water based inks (aqueous inks) onto a special transfer film.  A fixing powder is applied before the design is heat pressed on the garment.  The heat press cures the ink and lockes the design to the garment.  DTF prints have a excellent color accuracy and detail, are durable and look fantastic.  DTF offers a wide range of color options and can be printed on light and dark garments, as well as various material types including polyester, cotton, nylon and fleece.
